After attending a local carnival in Strongsville, OH and seeing children throwing their fish that they won moments before from carnival rides, leaving them for dead in leaking damaged bags, it became apparent that the days of giving away live animals at carnivals should come to an end. The Strongsville chamber of Commerce can come up with more humane prizes. The fish and bunnies that die in the process of being prizes at Ohio carnivals and fairs are looked at as collateral damage and proper care is not taken of these animals. There are many other humane prizes and local stores are available that sell fish and bunnies to people who are ready to get a new pet. Ending this practice in Strongsville and the state of Ohio would be a step in the right direction for improving animals' lives outcomes in circus and carnival industries.
