CLEAN UP FACEBOOK

To Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook

We the undersigned wish to object to the increasing levels of racism and fake pages and groups being set up on FACEBOOK. We do not want the Facebook brand to be known as a tool to threaten, vilify, mis-represent others.

We ask that on pages and groups purporting to represent Aboriginal people and issues, that Aboriginal laws of cultural protocol and intellectual copyright be respected and incorporated into the Facebook rules.

WE THE UNDERSIGNED CALL ON FACEBOOK TO IMMEDIATELY BAN

(a) RACIST groups and pages that vilify minority cultures;

(b)  PORNOGRAPHIC homophobic, pedophilic, sexist posts, images, groups and pages;

(c)  RACIAL HATRED groups, inciting hatred for Aboriginal people, issues and cultures;

(d)  SCAM pages and Facebook 'businesses' purporting to offer reparation to the stolen generations, cures for cancer & diabetes and other outlandish claims;

(e) "BUSINESS  PAGES" that are not registered legitimate entities under the jurisdiction of Australian or state, territory law (ie: registered under Associations acts, Australian Securities Commission, Office for Registration of Aboriginal Corporations) nor registered with the ATO purporting to be BUSINESSES.

(f) SUPPORT Independent Senator for South Australia Nick Xenophon's campaign to establish an Internet ombudsman.

SIGN - and if you know of any add examples, links to offensive &  fake Facebook pages, groups - and always REPORT THEM.
