Fair trial for Anneli Auer

In december 2006 in Ulvila Finland, it was reported that a masked man broke into a happy home of Anneli Auer, her husband and four children and brutally killed the father of the family while older daughter and mother were awake and saw the killer. Dna-stains of the killer were found from murder weapon and a large policeinvestigation was carried out. Nearly 600 dna tests were taken and police could not find the killer. In 2008 lead of the police investigation was changed and new policemen decided to search thick and thin if the wife could have been the murderer. No evidence was pointing there, but police did all possible as this was their "last path" to be searched, including undercover work. A false boyfriend was introduced to the life of young widow and her children. All her journals were read, all conversations were taped. No evidence against her were found.  Still in the fall 2009 she was arrested and interrogated with a purpose to get her to confess the crime she had not committed.

Anneli Auer, has been kept in prison without evidence against her for the murder of the family's father for over one and a half year.  Trial by newspaper started a witchhunt leading an innocent person being convicted for a lifesentence for a crime there is no evidence she has ever committed. On the contrary, eyewitness, daughter,9 years old then, saw the killer-a masked man and has repeated her testimony several times the past 4 years. Other strong evidence,dna belonging to a male person, outsider of the family was found and suspects freed as their dna didnt match to this dna found from the murder weapon. Anneli Auer's dna doesnt match to this dna-evidence. Also the police dog couldnt find her smell from the weapon. These two criteria were enough for police  to reliesh earlier suspects in this case.

After the killing of the father of this family in dec 2006 ,the four children and mother had to move to a new town, start their life new.  So a new family member to this fragile family was itself a cruel investigation method to choose. Original investigation in 2007 was carried out carefully and in a large scale.Also from the original investigation, the chief of the investigation, main investigator and technical investigator-top three experts of the case, mature and experinced professionals, all three testified in the court that Anneli Auer cannot be guilty of this crime. The technical investigator told in the court that he had investigated right after the crime the chance that wife may have done it. Whoever committed the crime must have been all bloody, so if it had been her, she would have had to wash herself. She was not in blood and bathroom facilities were totally dry from not only blood but also, no drop of water was found as he had checked the drainages inside out. He could not see that tehcnically, it would have been possible for Anneli Auer to commit this crime and then do all the needed framing (mind you in front of her daughter that was awake and around her) in around 6 minutes before the police arrived. 

After the case has been followed by great media interest 3 years in Finland, Anneli Auer and her former husband and their lives have been introduced by media. Interesting is that not a single person has come up and told they have heard this couple ever had an argument. Police investigated any chance of infidelities and came to the conclusion that  the couple had been exceptionally devoted to each other. Neighbours and children had never heard them fighting. Also nothing in the past of Anneli Auer has been brought about that shows her to be other than a decent, good mother. A woman with high education, Master of Economics, a founder of "stay-at-home-mothers" Internet site promoting family values and healthy cooking ect. 

Trial by newspapers principle was created as the yellow paper used to judge crime cases before the court hearing.  In Anneli Auer's case, media along with the highest police authorities concluded Anneli Auer was guilty -not just before the trial, but also before the district prosecutor had brought charges against Anneli Auer.  Unquestionable methods were used in the policehearing of Anneli Auer right after her 8 month long relationship with an undercover police finished and she was not given a chance to get over the shock of having just been househunting for a new home with a man that was not real. Her life was in pieces when aggressive, brainwashing like questioning started and false facts were introduced by police to both her and her daughter (That  the technical investigation had prooved no outsider could have been at their home and no grown man could have walked through the broken window of their home). Still daughter never changed her eyewitness story.  Anneli Auer called the emergency call during which her husband was murdered. In the emergency call all three, mother, father, and a daughter 9yrs, mention the third person. Mother asks "did he stay"-father answers "he stayed", mother asks "did he leave" and daughter answers "he left".  Also father asks mother to come and help him by calling her nickname "Annu, come help me". Even if the recording of the emergency call could not track the outsiders voice, just noices indicating there was a fight going on, it would not be enough of an evidence alone to proove there was not an outsider in the house as mother and daughter claim and the dna stains in the murderweapon.

When there is no evidence against a person, a pure speculation cannot be used to convict a person.  On the contrary, for life sentence, clear evidence needs to be found and without a reasonable doubt person to be prooved guilty. This is not the case of Anneli Auer. Dear Judges of  Vaasa Hovioikeus, please, do the justice and  free this widow and allow her children to have at least one parent left to take care of their emotional healing to normal life. A life sentence for Anneli Auer is also a sentence for the four children to spend their childhood without either one of their parents.
