Save the Stow Lake Boathouse Coalition

We, the seniors, families, children and individuals who appreciate Stow Lake and the Stow Lake Boat House, demand that the City and County of San Francisco preserve one of the last remaining unique treasures of San Francisco for future generations.

Our demands are as follows:   Keep the character and architectural exterior of the boathouse to remain the same, with no restaurant added to the site. Keep the current tenant running the "old fashioned" snack bar & boat rentals with space for boat maintenance.

> The current tenant has never had a boating accident

> The current tenant has a long-standing, excellent relationship with their customers

> The current tenant has employees that have worked there for over ten years

> The current tenant has added healthy food options to the snack bar menu

> The current tenant is interested in adding additional items to sell to increase revenue

> The current tenant is open to improving the facility once a lease is in place

If the City and County of San Francisco would like to add more revenue to the budget, which we understand is needed, we recommend adding a small, Golden Gate Park Gift Shop in the bottom of the boat house building where the old bathrooms are located.  We would recommend all artwork or crafts sold be made by SF locals (jewelry, paintings, art from recycled items, etc.).

1. The character and architectural exterior of the boathouse should remain the same, with no restaurant added on the site.

2.  Support the current tenant in running the "old fashioned" snack bar and boat rentals & boat maintenance.

I have read the full explanation and demands above and on the previous page and agree with them fully.
