Stop Enbridge Pipeline Proposal

What you are reading, is a huge concern for kids my age and what I intend to do about it. Canada %u2019s biggest crude oil transporter, Enbridge, plans to develop a pipeline that is 1172 kilometers long which goes from the Alberta tar sands to the coastal town of Kitimat . Then, large ships are to navigate their way through very rough waters on a route to China . The project is called %u201CNorthern Gateway%u201D. I find this ironic because our beautiful land may be destroyed. There may not be a spill at first, but there is a potential for one which could wipe out thousands of animals and trees.  The possibility of an oil spill is even greater when they are riding their boats through treacherous waters. If an accident were to occur, the oil would spill into the ocean, killing many fish. Also, from 1999 to 2008, 610 spills has happened with Enbridge Pipeworks responsible. To fix this, I am going to do two things. First, I am going to make posters with information and links to the %u201CNorthern Gateway%u201D project to raise awareness. Second, I am going to get as many people as possible to sign a petition and send it to Enbridge and show them how many people, including children, do not want to ruin our land and our creatures. If kids my generation doesn%u2019t act now, we will be cleaning up their mess in the future. Everyone should know that the Enbridge %u201CNorthern Gateway" project is not our future.

I am a 12 year old girl that wants to help her community.  One night, my mom showed me a video about your pipeline proposal, so I wanted ti di somthing about it. So I made a website and made a petition on how many people do not want this pipeline. You will be going right through the Great Bear Rainforest. I know you want to have more oppertunities for your company, but think of all the wildlife you would be destroying. Anyway, this is what I did about it. Thank you for taking the time ti read my letter.
