We Support Farmers Appeal Against MONSANTO!

Last February, Monsanto talked a District Court Judge into dismissing a long overdue case against the company. We cannot let Monsanto prevail in the appeal.

Organic Seed Growers and Trade Association (OSGATA), family farmers, seed businesses and other organic organizations, will challenge Monsanto's patents on genetically modified seed - IF the court allows the case to go forward.

OSGATA's statement: "...we are seeking protection from the Court and putting Monsanto on notice.  Monsanto's threats and abuse of family farmers stops here. Monsanto's genetic contamination of organic seed and organic crops ends now. Americans have the right to choice in the marketplace 'to decide what kind of food they will feed their families' and we are taking this action on their behalf to protect that right to choose."

Let President Obama and the USDA know that you intend to end Monsanto's tyranny.

We, the undersigned, stand with OSGATA and those it represents in its appeal for justice against Monsanto's tyranny.

We support OSGATA in its appeal to "...assure that the organic community has access to excellent quality organic seed, free of contaminants and adapted to the diverse needs of organic agriculture."

We agree with OSGATA that "Any level of GMO contamination is unacceptable to the organic community."

Monsanto's actions threaten this effort.

Monsanto's GMO seed contaminates other crops and puts organic and non-GMO farmers in jeopardy of lawsuits and losing their farms. Food Democracy Now says Monsanto has filed 144 lawsuits against family farmers and settled "another 700 out of court."

According to Food Democracy Now, "Monsanto's seed monopoly has grown so powerful that they control the genetics of nearly 90% of five major commodity crops including corn, soybeans, cotton, canola and sugar beets."

We, the consumers - those who care about our health, our environment, the future of our planet and the legacy left to our descendants - are FED UP with Monsanto's abuse.  From Agent Orange to the bovine growth hormone to Roundup-resistant and otherwise genetically modified crops, Monsanto has made a name for itself by putting its huge profits over the health and welfare of the planet and all who inhabit it.

On top of doing all of the wrong things, Monsanto terrorizes those who try to do right. "Monsanto has created an atmosphere of fear in rural America and driven dozens of farmers into bankruptcy," adds Food Democracy Now.

It is time for justice and democracy to prevail over such tyranny as Monsanto represents.

On February 27, 2012: Judge Buchwald ruled in Monsanto's favor. Her comments that the public should be comforted by Monsanto's promises, in light of Monsanto's history of false safety claims, is absurd. We now support OSGATA's appeal for justice.

We plead with you to stop pandering to industry and work with OSGATA to end Monsanto's ownership of seeds and plants and its growing control over our food production.

Thank you for your serious attention to this important matter.
