Over 175 Cats Were Rescued From a Home in Mississippi

In another tragic instance of alleged animal cruelty, 176 cats were rescued from dangerous conditions in Mississippi. While the Humane Society of the United States was thankfully able to save most of the cats, local authorities must ensure that whoever is accountable for these cats is never responsible for an animal again, and that this person receives the counseling and support they need.

Sign now to tell local authorities to ensure the perpetrator of this abuse has access to counseling and is never the sole owner of an animal again!

When rescuers arrived on the scene, the cats were experiencing signs of neglect, including "filthy, fly and flea-infested conditions."

A shocking ten cats were found dead in a freezer. Water bowls were empty, and litter-boxes were overflowing. Several of the poor animals had to immediately be taken to an emergency veterinarian.

Clearly, the person responsible for these animals is in need of counseling and is not in a place to own or care for animals in the future. This is why authorities must help them get access to the support they need, and mandate no animal ownership in the future.
