Allow Transgender Senior to Walk in Her High School Graduation

Kami Pham was blindsided when Principal Jeff Roberts at Southward High School in Shreveport, Louisiana decided to ban her senior portraits from the yearbook for supposedly not meeting the school dress code.

In fact, the modestly dressed Pham did meet the dress code, the principal seems to more so be upset that she wore a wig and somewhat feminine attire to reflect her gender identity.

Now the same principal is threatening to not allow Pham, a National Honor Society student, to walk in her graduation ceremony if she doesn't dress according to the sex reflected on her birth certificate.

This is discriminatory and inappropriate. Pham should be able to wear whatever she wants under her gown - and if she should choose to accessorize with heels or makeup, that's no reason to justify depriving her of a celebratory capstone to her high school experience.

Please sign this petition demanding that Principal Jeff Roberts let Kami Pham express herself and dress in way that reflects her gender identity!
