Las Vegas’s casinos bring in money — a lot of money. And, with 58 lives lost and more than 500 people wounded, survivors and the family of those killed in the city’s October 1, 2017 mass shooting are going to need plenty of help.
That’s why we are calling on the most profitable casinos in Las Vegas to donate one day of profits to the Las Vegas Victims' Fund organized by Clark County Commissioner Steve Sisola.According to a 2014 study by the University of Las Vegas,
a regular Vegas casino brings in an average of more than $630,000 a day. Surely, these casino operations — some of the most profitable in Las Vegas — should be willing to re-invest in their community’s recovery.
Shooting victims are now facing significant, unexpected medical expenses. They may have to miss work to recover and grieve. They will need financial support.
The community of Las Vegas gives so much to the success of its casino industry — now is the time for the casinos to give back. Please add your name to urge these casinos to help the people of Las Vegas recover from this horrific mass shooting.
