In researching and preparing for the movie, "Goodnight Marilyn," we, the filmmakers, have firmly come to believe that Marilyn Monroe did not commit suicide. We feel she wanted the pain to go away, but she did not want to die that fateful night back in August of 1962. She had a lot to live for and was making plans hours and days before her death.
Thanks to your support, we have now gained the support of the Marilyn community and the world to help support getting to the truth of what happened to Marilyn. It is wonderful to announce that on May 20-22, 2016 we will hold the first world history event of bringing renowned experts to help dispel fact from fiction and probable theory from outlandish rumor regarding the mystery of her death. Help support the cause for us get the support from the DA office, the LAPD and The Los Angeles County Department of Coroner. Based on the history of the case, it is reasonable to say that there is enough evidence to firmly prove once and for all that Marilyn did not actively take her life. We may never know if murder was involved. This is not the goal of this petition. The goal is to review the case with what we know to be true based on the facts, not rumors.

Dear District Attorney and Los Angeles County Department of Coroner:
The purpose of this letter is to re-open the Marilyn Monroe records, file number #81128. We firmly believe that Marilyn Monroe’s death needs to be re-examined with a new generation of officials since this is a historical and monumental icon that still lives in our culture each and every day.
From the moment Marilyn Monroe died, and through the years of countless books and stories, there are still suspicions and incongruities in the case that have led to many conspiracy theories circulating in the public today. Since the case has not been reviewed officially in over 30 years, it is time to take a fresh look and approach to a very historical case. We are asking you to formally reexamine the death of Marilyn Monroe.
From the moment she died, there has been a veil of suspicion over Ms. Monroe’s death. The preliminary report from the Office of the County Coroner, dated and signed by Noguchi at ten-thirty on Sunday morning, is contained in File Number 81128 in the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Mortuary, Hall of Justice, City of Los Angeles. The first supplement, a report of chemical analysis of the blood and liver, was dated and signed by R.J. Abernethy, Head Toxicologist, at eight o’ clock on the morning of August 13 (file Number 811128-I) Subsequently, on August 10, Curphey’s preliminary judgment was that death occurred because of a, “possible overdose of barbiturates.” On August 17, this was amended to be a, “probable suicide,” and on August 17, Curphey made his final statement still more forcefully, as “acute barbiturate poisoning - ingestion of overdose.”
From the time that the autopsy was performed to the suicide team taking over, this case has been surrounded by a cloud of mystery and misinformation. Since new information, technology and the mental health industries have made significant advancements over the last five decades and the case has not officially been looked at since 1985, all of us who signed this petition support the reexamination of this case so all the rumors can be put to rest and the death of Marilyn Monroe can accurately be revealed in history.
Just as there is evidence that Marilyn was suicidal, there is also a lot of proof that Marilyn had a lot to live for and was making plans hours and days before her death. As supporters of Marilyn and her legacy, we ask you to be TRANSPARENT in the facts of the case, and let’s all work together to get to the bottom of this mystery once and for all.
In an era of American icons she was the star that shined the brightest. Our goal is not to prove anything but unveil the TRUTH in the most respectful and genuine way. As a minimum, we want you to consider changing the “probable suicide” finding on the on the autopsy report to either “undetermined” or “accidental.” We thank you in advance for taking the time to look at all the support from the public for Marilyn. We formally want to invite you to reexamine the death of Marilyn Monroe, the legendary star that will forever be a part of all of our lives and be a part of this groundbreaking conference on May 20-22, 2016 as the TRUTH WILL SET ALL OF US FREE, especially Marilyn!
