VERY DANGEROUS intersection needs to change NOW

I don’t know how many people have had a wreck here with devastating injuries or have died just because there isn’t anything out there to help slow people down. The problem is, this intersection is heavily populated during the morning hours and the afternoons because there is a high school on one side of the highway and an elementary on the other. And this is highway 15 I am talking about. It connects Laurel to Stringer to Bay Springs. So we have people going to work down Hwy 15 in the mornings and afternoon, back and forth. Usually in a hurry so they are not trying to slow down at this intersection at Trace Rd Across from the Fast Stop convenience store. Another issue is, just about the time everyone is going to school in the morning, the sun is also coming up, blinding everyone travelling eastbound, toward the elementary school. There is no stop sign here or anything that would slow the traffic down on highway 15. This is very important to me because I almost lost my wife and 2 daughters, age 10 and 5, in this very spot about a month ago. My wife said she never saw the car that hit her doing approximately 60-65 mph. Luckily the car only took out the front of my wife’s car and no one was badly injured but if it would have been another 4 inches toward the cab, I’m afraid I would have lost my babies forever. Please do something about this. There is no reason not to. There needs to be a caution light or something to make these people aware that it is a bad intersection where they need to slow down and use caution. I know they don’t want a stop sign there, so that’s why I suggest the caution light. If that doesn’t work, we can go to the stop sign/ light next. Thank you for your time! I hope we can get this issue resolved before somebody gets killed.
