shut down moni security systems

    Monitronics "Moni" security systems have been taking peoples money for years. They state they are the fastest responding security out there and that they monitor your systems 24/7. I know for a fact that's a lie because one of the employees on the phone with me told me they do not monitor everyone's systems 24/7. Not to mention I had them for almost 3 years and have had several alarms go off and no one called me. The alarms were going off for minutes and when I called to have them run a diagnostic on my system they claimed everything is fine and did not require them to come out. I asked if they had records of my alarm going off and they stated we see where you tested your alarm and then one alarm we did receive but it reset itself in a few minutes so they didn't bother to call me. In that time my family could have been dead because of their negligence. Luckily nothing happened and there were no intruders. When moni told me that they had not received an alarm I had ADT come out and install their system. They removed Moni's nbox from the wall and ADT technician told me to wait and see if Moni calls me about a tamper to my box and an outage at my house. A few hours go by and still no call. I called Moni and asked them to check the status on my box they stated there were no malfunctions and no alarms or tampers so my box is fine. When I explained to the gentleman on the phone that my box was off the wall and laying on my dining room table he was at a loss of words. I spoke to 2 other managers after that point to cancel my services. Ironically they told me that my contract ends 11/24/2017 which also so happens to be my birthday. I don't remember signing a contract however it was a few years ago so I may have. But with a contract a company cannot raise rates and Moni raised my bill over $20 a month. They stated I owe them $164 to end my contract. That to me is stealing. They never did the job I was promised when I first had them installed, they lied to me about everything, stole my money, left me and my family feeling unsecure, and ultimately should not be allowed to be a security company. A security company is there to let you know when there is a problem with your system they are there to help you when something is wrong. Moni leaves the monitoring up to the customer and stated to me on the phone that it is my responsibility to know when something is wrong with my system. So shouldn't that mean they should be paying me? I want this company shut down before they screw over anymore people and possibly get someone killed because of their negligence.
