Schedule vote on Tuckahoe school bond, now!

On December 5, 2017, the proposed $20.5 million school bond failed by only 36 votes.

The bond would have provided necessary upgrades to infrastructure and security and would have ameliorated urgent issues of overcrowding. The infrastructure and building maintenance needs are pressing and non-negotiable and the overcrowding is expected to become worse in the next couple of years. Without a school bond, the administration will be forced to eliminate programs and consolidate classes.

As such, we, residents of the Tuckahoe Union Free School District and persons registered to vote in Tuckahoe school bond elections, hereby petition the Board of Education to schedule a vote on a school bond that is the same or substantially similar to the one previously voted upon on December 5, 2017.

Please vote for the Tuckahoe School Budget!
TUESDAY, MAY 15 (6a-9p) at Cottle School or Tuckahoe Community Ctr.

The budget is the district’s expenditure plan for next year; it is different from the bond. Each VOTE is ESSENTIAL!

The proposed budget will pay for services, staffing, classroom updates, and security. Non-passage of the budget would have immediate and negative consequences for our students. All registered district voters, including renters, are eligible to vote.
