It's been said that there is nothing more American than the right to peaceful protest. If that's the case, then there is nothing more anti-America than the current President of the United States.
On the same day that he ordered peaceful protesters attacked and tear gassed to make way for an awkward two-minute photo op with a bible in front of a church he was not welcome at, Donald Trump threatened to "deploy the United States military" if governors refused to "dominate" protesters.
Trump's brutal actions and subsequent threat, if he made good on it, are clear violations of Americans' first amendment right to free speech and assembly — to say nothing of the tenets of basic morality and ethics.
We've seen this show before in ruthless authoritarian regimes around the world, and we've also seen that "just following orders" is not a viable excuse. That's why it is the moral obligation of every member of U.S. armed services to reject Trump's violent, dictatorial marching orders.
America's armed forces exist to protect Americans and our rights, not threaten them.
Please add your name to tell all military personnel to REJECT Trump's use of force against peacefully protesting Americans!
