URGENT help and public support is needed to save the sanctuary which is at risk of foreclosure!
The Lighthouse Farm Sanctuary located in Scio,OR specializes in the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of abused and neglected farm animals.
The sanctuary currently cares for over 100 animals (cows, pigs, llamas, goats, chickens, turkeys, horses, rabbits and geese). Many of these animals have nowhere to go and will be euthanized if the sanctuary closes.
The sanctuary was $6,000 behind on their mortgage payments (which have now been paid and the staffing issue resolved) but the lender currently demands that the entire $325,000 mortgage be paid in full within 30 days.
PLEASE urge the sanctuarys mortgage lender to reconsider demanding the entire $325,000 balance and allow the sanctuary to return to the monthly installments. These animals have all suffered and deserve to live a long and peaceful life.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I'm just one of many people that care dearly for the animals at the Lighthouse Farm Sanctuary. I heard about their financial difficulties and started this petition to raise awareness and show you that many people care about the well-being of the residents at the sanctuary.
We are hoping you reconsider demanding the $325,000 mortgage be paid in full. With renewed community support, we believe the sanctuary will thrive and not have the same difficulties it faced in the past with making the mortgage payments.
Please show mercy and allow them to go back to their regularly scheduled monthly payments. So many animals endure unspeakable cruelty. The lucky few that have found the Lighthouse Farm Sanctuary should be able to live out their lives in peace.
