We are an independent shop on the high street in Wotton-under-Edge and Stroud District Council is consulting about parking fees being imposed. As an independent trader we feel this would be the death nail to traders. We are already struggling with lack of parking and we desperately need more in the town. If visitors have to pay they will go elsewhere and the shops will close.
Why would the District Council even think this is a good idea? It's ridiculous. Please support us so that we can keep out interesting high street full of independent shops.

thank you so much for your support. We have 622 signatures online and I have 422 signatures on the paper petition. The consultation closes on 29th so I will send the info off to Stroud Today. I hope we all get the outcome which will be best for our little town. We hope to be trading on the high street for sometime to come and we hope that the council will throw out this ridiculous idea o charging for parking. Once again a huge Thank you for all the signatures.
