PLEASE...LET'S STOP EBAY SALES OF CUBAN PROTECTED SNAIL SHELLS (POLYMITAS)

In Cuba there are species of polymitas or land snails, which feature the most vibrant and stunning colored shells of all snails in the world. They are being illegally taken from Cuba by mostly Miami visiting former Cubans, and sold on E-bay for between $10 and $40 apiece. This problem has been highlighted by the Cuban government, but Ebay has simply ignored repeated and polite requests to respect this protected and diminishing species. They have made a market for these things on ebay which they have been pushing now for decades. I have tried, repeatedly, called them, and get nothing but empty promises on the phone and virtually nothing on their online communication vehicles. I do not feel that EBAY can unilaterally decide that a species at risk in Cuba is of no consequence to them because they do no business in Cuba, due to the Helms Burton legislation and the America/Cuban embargo. Please help us...sign the petition...write a note or call Ebay. Look up "Cuban Polymitas" on ebay and it will make you sick. Those colorful little amazing creatures we see in eastern Cuba near Baracoa in the tropical mountainous region, and they use rural Cuban kids to do their harvesting. It is shocking that an organization as large as Ebay can be so cruel, unthinking and environmentally destructive, and uncaring in such a bold way about our planet and it's natural wonders. The American agencies should make an effort to stop this illegal trade of a protected species. However, they and Ebay seem not to care. Do you? Please help us stop this senseless slaughter of a tiny wonder of the world.
