On December 10, 2010, Mary G Sykes was declared incompetent on the 18th floor of the Daley Center in a hearing that she did not and could not attend on her own.  Her daughter Carolyn Toerper was apppointed her guardian, ripped Mary G from a home and neighborhood, friends and family she knew since the 1950's.  Now she lives in near total isolation from those friends and family in a remote suburb.
Gloria, her other daughter, lovingly cared for her for 10+ years.  Carolyn evicted Gloria from her mother's home, has secreted her mother away and isolated her--all against Mary's vociferous wishes!  Next, the house will be sold, Mary G gets dumped in a nursing home (she is already in adult day care during the week when otherwise Gloria could care for her at home)  and the money goes into a trust that Carolyn benefits from!
VOTE AND DEMAND that a person who knows what she wants and where to live and whom to care for her is NOT incompetent and may return home.
