As you all know, PIONEER SUPERMARKET installed a bottle redemption center on the side of BUILDING ONE, at ESPLANADE GARDENS.
As a result, we are inundated with people from all over, many times they are homeless or addicts under the influence, and sadly criminal activity is more likely to occur. The safety of our ESPLANADE GARDENS residents, many of whom are elderly and live alone, is paramount and as a community it is our collective responsibility to help protect them. Many of us wouldn't even be living here if it wasn't for them, so we owe them our highest gratitude and respect, and in this case, protection from harm. PIONEER SUPERMARKET is putting our people in jeopardy and we can't allow it to continue.
Additionally, the bottle kiosk is a plight on our environment. Our courtyard and trees are filled with smelly, dirty, ripped plastic bags, left behind by the people using the bottle kiosk. The plastic bags are unhygienic, they are an eyesore and bring down the curb appeal of our building and overall value of our community. ESPLANADE GARDENS is beautiful and it's being destroyed by this foul and disgusting fallout, it is unacceptable and intolerable.
For those living in apartments right above the bottle kiosk, the smell, the noise, all day, everyday, is overwhelming and peoples' quality of life has and continues to be, negatively impacted. Tenants have a right to peace and quiet in their homes, they have a right to open theirs windows, but cannot because of the awful stench and activities below.
PIONEER SUPERMARKET was contacted and when asked to give information regarding who owns the store, the manager rudely refused, and hung up the phone. This sends the message that they are unwilling to cooperate or address the serious issues that originate from their store. Their only concern is making money from the bottle redemption center, they do not care how it negatively affects ESPLANADE GARDENS, our tenants and our community overall.
IT IS TIME TO SHUT DOWN THE PIONEER BOTTLE REDEMPTION KIOSK. PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO LET YOUR VOICES BE HEARD, BY SIGNING THIS PETITION. THE MORE SIGNATURES WE HAVE, THE MORE POWER WE HAVE, OUR QUALITY OF LIFE DEPENDS ON IT.
