Someone Locked Their Dog in a Carrier and Left Her to Starve to Death in the Woods

'Painful and prolonged.'

That's how animal protection workers described the death of one tragically neglected pup.

According to reports, a group of people was out walking in a wooded area in Spokane Valley, Washington. The walkers came upon a plastic dog carrier that looked abandoned, but instead of walking by, they decided to take a look.

What they found inside was horrible.

Upon looking inside, they saw a dead medium-sized mutt. The dog's body was shriveled and contorted in pain. It was obvious that someone had left the poor pooch out in the middle of the woods with no food or water and that it had died a truly agonizing death.

Owning a dog doesn't just happen. The owner must make a conscious decision to accept an animal into their family and once they do so they have the responsibility to care for it. How anyone could decide to become an animal parent and then, from one day to the next, decide to abandon them in a locked carrier to starve to death is beyond comprehension for most animal lovers. It is also illegal. The person who left the young dog could have left her at a shelter but instead, they decided to dump her like a piece of trash.

Spokane Valley law enforcement must take this crime seriously. A life has been lost and it deserves justice.

Please sign the petition and ask Spokane Valley PD to do what they can to find and charge the person who abandoned this poor dog.
