Hey Donald Trump! Add my name to your "Enemies List" please!
We recently learned former CIA Director John Brennan had his top secret clearance revoked by Donald J Trump, as punishment for criticism Mr Brennan expressed about the illegal and unethical actions Donald J Trump made since his election in Nov. 2016. Furthermore, while naming Mr Brennan as one of his political enemies, Donald J Trump went so far as to attempt to justify his punitive actions, by accusing Former Director Brennan of erratic behavior - an accusation that is downright laughable coming from Donald J Trump!
Even during the first weeks after he became the "president-elect," Mr Trump authorized his aides to contact foreign governments concerning actions he intended to make contrary to the (then current) Obama administration, and voicing his disagreement with rulings and sanctions put in force by President Obama. Mr Trump began operating as if he were already inaugurated - literally acting as if he simultaneously held the power of the presidency - two months before he was sworn in!
As the first months of his tenure as president passed, Mr Trump's blatant disregard for Presidential and Constitutional protocol evoked criticism by many former government officials and past cabinet members - particularly for his obviously questionable relationship with (and deference to) President Vladimir Putin of Russia. Perhaps even more alarming were Mr Trump's verbal attacks on NATO, on the leaders of our "G7" allied nations, and on the Prime Minister of our closest friendly nation and neighbor, Canada. Trump's verbal attacks and threats quickly turned into punitive trade tariffs, levied as a tactic to gain trade advantage over our business partners - tariffs that quickly hurt businesses and farmers across this country (and in Canada.)
Recently, while proudly announcing the punishment of Dir. John Brennan (stripping him of his intelligence/security clearance), Trump instructed his spokesperson to read the names of nine additional former & current officials he is considering taking action against (in the immediate future.) In a true Nixonian style, Trump announced his current "enemies list," accusing them of spearheading the investigation into Putin's attempts to illegally engage members of the Trump campaign committee, undermining our electoral process. Because in Mr Trump's mind, any accusation (much less evidence) that Russia attempted to influence our 2016 presidential election casts a shadow of illegitimacy over his winning the electoral college votes.
In his effort to muzzle John Brennan, James Comey, Michael Hayden, Susan Rice, and his other perceived enemies and critics, Mr Trump's use of punitive threats and actions denies them their First Amendment right of Free Speech.
To show our support for (Ret.) Director Brennan and the other individuals Trump considers his critics and enemies, we ask that Donald J Trump also add our names to his enemies list. Because we consider it an honor to be hated and feared by someone as despicable as Donald J Trump.
