Number of Beluga whales killed in Alaska each year: around 350

Number of Bowhead whales killed in Alaska each year: around 80

Every year, a number of Bowhead and Beluga whales (also known as White Dolphins) are brutally slaughtered by Alaskan Inuits, the Alaskan whaling is contrary to popular belief partly commercial whaling (since the meat can be legally sold), you can legally buy Bowhead and Beluga meat in Alaskan Inuit villages (and also big cities like Fairbanks, Anchorage and Juneau) and eat it wherever you want! And to be a whaler in Alaska, you only have to be one-quarter Inuit:http://www.fakr.noaa.gov/protectedresources/buying.htm

Being one-quarter Inuit should NOT give you the right to kill whales, they are highly intelligent and social animals, and also endangered
