Asylum Seekers Are Not Criminals. Tell the White House Their "Zero Tolerance" Immigration Policy Must Go.

Don't let President Donald Trump's recent executive order fool you - it's hardly a solution to the real problem immigrant families face. It offers no help to the thousands of children who have already been separated from their parents, and it will lock up families in detention centers together, which is still traumatizing to kids.

What we really need is to put an end to the administration's "zero tolerance" approach to border security. By the administration's own admission, families seeking safety in the U.S. are being mistreated and prosecuted to the full extent in an effort to deter other immigrants. That's cruel in any circumstance, particularly for an offense that's deemed a misdemeanor.

Sign and share this petition now to implore the Trump administration to drop its zero tolerance approach to a humanitarian crisis. America ought to lead with compassion, and its current policy is anything but.
