Tell Boehner: Equal Rights For LGBT Veteran Spouses!

According to House Speaker John Boehner, a spouse of a U.S Army veteran who was diagnosed with multiples sclerosis and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder should be denied spousal benefits

Tracey Cooper-Harris married her wife after 12 years of service but, though her marriage was legalized in the state of California prior to Prop 8, Title 38 of the Defense of Marriage Act denies the same-sex marriage any spousal benefits.

This latest decision not only ignores the civil rights of LGBT Americans but opens a new, direct assault on veterans.

Tell Boehner: Stop Denying Rights to Veteran Spouses!

We the undersigned urge you to end your defense of the Defense of Marriage Act as well as Title 38.
It has been made clear in the case brought forth by 12-year veteran Tracey Cooper-Harris that DOMA affects those who bravely defend their country only to be discriminated by unjust legislation.
Spouses in same-sex marriages deserve equal protection under the law and to be respected for their dedication to the United States.
We ask you to please, end your defense of DOMA and Title 38.
Thank you for taking our comments and concerns into serious consideration.
