Comedian and Nerdist podcast founder,
Chris Hardwick, has been accused of years of emotional and sexual abuse by his former girlfriend, actress Chloe Dykstra.
But despite these serious claims, Hardwick is currently still the host of AMC's "The Talking Dead", a weekly talk show about the TV network's hit zombie show "The Walking Dead."
Please sign and share my petition telling AMC to drop Chris Hardwick from its network!Dykstra outlined her abuse claims in a heartbreaking
online essay,
claiming that Hardwick repeatedly assaulted her and made threats if she refused sex. She shares that he demonstrated "controlling behavior," including forbidding her to speak in public or have any male friends.
Dykstra also states that when she finally broke off the relationship, Hardwick worked to get her "blacklisted from several companies" in the entertainment industry as retribution.
Other companies associated with Chris Hardwick are already taking these horrific abuse claims seriously. Hardwick's Nerdist website has now
deleted all mentions of him as CEO and founder — even releasing a public statement to distance themselves from him. Former Nerdist employees have also
spoken up in support of Dykstra on Twitter.
When famous sexual abusers are called out, it's easy for many to ignore the accusations or cast doubt on the brave accusers that come forward. That's why it's important for all of us to speak up NOW to demand that AMC not ignore these horrific claims.
AMC needs to listen and take these sexual and emotional abuse claims seriously — and immediately pull Hardwick off as host for "Talking Dead"!
