On May 12, 2020, Dylan Richard, a 17 year old who was just about to graduate from Folsom High School and who had multiple scholarship offers to to play collegiate football, suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) falling off a skateboard. Dylan underwent multiple surgeries and procedures at UC Davis Medical Center where he spent a month in ICU.
We are petitioning Kaiser Permanente to refer Dylan to Craig Hospital in Englewood, Colorado where they are not only one of the leading TBI rehabilitation centers in the world, they have a program specifically designed for teenagers who suffer TBI injuries and they support the patient and the family. If Dylan is going to recover to resume a normal life, then he needs the best care possible.
Craig Hospital costs approximately $90,000 per month, but this is not about the money. This is about Dylan's chances at recovery. Kaiser Permanente has sent patients from northern California to the Craig Hospital in the past, and those families are already helping Dylan and his family navigate through this extremely trying time. Please sign this petition to encourage Kaiser Permanente to do the right thing and give Dylan the chance he deserves!!! Thank you!
