In January of 2018 a woman by the name of Brittany Smith shot and killed a perpetrator who was high on meth and had raped her, threatened her life in her home, and then attacked her brother after he arrived to help.
On January 14/15th, Brittany Smith had a "hold your ground" court hearing of which she lost, despite having much evidence against her perpetrator, Mr. Todd Smith.
I am urging you to voice your opinion on this matter. Write your state senators, legislators, voice your opinion. Despite it being 2020, women are still living in a mans world. Why is it justified that a woman raped, beaten, and almost murdered by a man, while also protecting her brother from the same fate, convicted for using self-defense?
Women shouldn't be afraid to come out and get justice for being raped or beaten.
Brittany deserves justice. Women deserve justice.
