Trump's Budget Cuts Medicare, Medicaid and Education Spending Plus Funds The Wall!

  • by: Kevin Mathews

The Trump White House has released its plan for the 2020 federal budget, and it's a doozy. It includes a trillion dollar cut to Medicare/Medicaid, reductions to farm subsidies and education spending, while unnecessarily increasing the budget for defense and (once again) a border wall.

Worst of all, it banks on the idea that Trump's unpopular tax cuts on the rich will stimulate the economy in a way that no independent economists corroborate.

The good news is that the U.S. Congress is under no obligation to accept this version of the budget. Considering that legislators have ignored some of Trump's worst budget proposals in the past, we ask them to do the same this time around and exercise better judgment when making funding decisions.

We need our representatives in Congress to listen to us when we say we do not accept this budget! Sign on today to send the message. This budget will be debated until it's voted on in October, so we are in for a long fight.
