Trump rolled out his 2019 budget proposal today and it's just as horrible as you'd guess. It proposes cuts to social programs and increases to defense spending. One of the most devestating things in this proposal is the end of funding for PBS and NPR.
Polls show that public broadcasting continues to be one of our most respected and trusted institutions. We can't let Trump gut their funding. Sign the petition to tell Trump not to touch federal funding of these organizations!
Without federal funding, PBS and NPR would whither away and that would have a negative impact on our society. These programs are invaluable resources for early childhood development and learning, emergency services broadcasting and equal access to information and education across the country. Defunding PBS and NPR will mean a less informed, less safe and less cohesive society.
