Call to End the Solitary Confinement of Charles Manson

Our constitution protects us from inhumane treatment. Placing a human being in solitary confinement has been proven to be inhumane. This must stop. It is not the way people in a fair society should treat others! The Human Rights Committee has expressed the view that “solitary confinement is a harsh penalty with serious psychological consequences and is justifiable only in case of urgent need, solitary confinement must only be used as a last resort, and then for the shortest time possible, no more than a matter of days.
FACT - Charles Manson is not a murderer and has NEVER killed anyone, nor did he ever "order" any crimes to be committed on his behalf; it's a LIE. He has been a victim of lies and sensationalism, from the government and the media for over 40 years! Millions of dollars have been made off of the name 'Manson' and that money can only be sustained by the lies; for the truth is much less profitable. He is compassionate person just like you and me, and deserves to not die in a prison cell, because of the evil actions and cowardice of others.
Manson has been sentenced to more than a year in solitary confinement, based on the allegation that he was in possession of a “deadly weapon”.
The alleged weapon was a wire from a pair of eye-glasses, in other words also your trousers and even your hands could be a so-called a “deadly weapon”.
Fact is C.Manson is placed in solitary confinement exactly in the period of his upcoming parole, isn’t that very convenient for those that don’t want to see C.Manson getting his rights?
But this specific petition is to be signed by all human of you to stand up for the human rights, no matter what your opinion concerning the Manson case is, all of us should demand the immediate release of C.Manson from the solitary confinement , a person at age 77 sentenced to more than a year in solitary confinement is nothing more than cruel torture and a serious violation of the basic human rights.
Hello, I am writing out of genuine concern for the well being of CSP Corcoran inmate and human being Charles Manson (B33920). In October of 2011 Mr. Manson was placed in the SHU, and at his age of 77, I find this to be unacceptable. Mr. Manson was found possessing an eyeglass frame wire that is commonly used in his craft making. I understand that he was not supposed to have this item in his possession but I also do not feel that it warranted the charge of “possession of a deadly weapon other that a firearm". This exaggerated charge was enough to sentence him to 15 months in the SHU, which is very unfair and unjust.
Charles Manson is constantly facing discrimination and adverse treatment while incarcerated. The stereotype and nefarious persona that Hollywood and the media created in Mr. Manson’s name hangs over him, and I feel he is judged and persecuted by prison staff and inmates alike because of it. He is a real human being and deserves to be treated as such. His rights to contact friends and loved ones through the phone should be restored. He should be allowed outdoors for more than one hour a day. He should not be kept in a cell for 23 hours a day and he should have the right to his possessions such as his guitar. It seems that most rules are bent to deprive Mr. Manson of his human rights or anything he possibly enjoys. This consistent behavior of discrimination is deplorable and should not be administratively sanctioned. Mr. Manson should not be singled out because of the ridiculous notoriety placed upon him. There seems to be an air of corruption and bias in the punitive measures placed against Mr. Manson.
Mr. Manson is a not a threat to anyone, and at 77, the sentence of 15 months in “the hole” is cruel and unusual. It is my understanding that CDCR stands for ‘California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation'. There is nothing “corrective” or "rehabilitative" about solitary confinement, especially for a 77-year-old man. I am truly concerned about his health in this situation. While Mr. Manson’s resolve and spirit have remained strong in the decades of adversity he has faced, this current SHU situation is detrimental to his health and something needs to be done about it.
The intention of this letter is to reach administrators that have direct power and duty over Mr. Manson’s placement in the SHU, so the urgency and concern of the situation can be addressed and resolved. There are people who care for the well being and rights of Mr. Manson, and we are asking you to review this situation with a genuine and unbiased eye and give it the attention it demands.
