Recess Time Is Extremely Important

Recess for our children is only 20 minutes per day. Recess in many research articles state: "recess as beneficial for children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical functioning." Reducing recess is NOT a solution to larger educational issues.  Our children either need to have a longer recess with 30 minutes minimum or have two 20 minute recesses.  Reducing recess for children is genuinely counterproductive for learning. Reducing recess for any child can reduce their well-being and focus in school.

There are some nice articles about how important recess is. Please talk to your principals at your schools!!! Parents are the ones that are going to make the change. Can you believe that one article asks for one hour for recess!! We get 1/3rd of that time!!
