Animal rescuers in the Philippines have successfully saved two dogs, after
their owner ordered someone to round them up, beat them, and kill them. The reason we even know about his near-killing of his own pets is because of his popularity on social media streaming sites, and because of a video he uploaded in which he demanded this "punishment" for his dogs.
Why is he still allowed to have a platform there, when we have clear evidence of his animal cruelty? Sign the petition to demand that TikTok, Facebook, and all other streaming services ban this man and take down his content!The two dogs had allegedly chewed on or otherwise damaged a pair of the man's slippers, which he claimed were very expensive. As a result, he called someone to help him punish the animals in retaliation.
In a video that he himself took, he shows someone coming to capture the dogs, tying one of them up and tossed into a cart, to be taken away toward its death.
He apparently told the capturers to "severely punish" the animals and said they needed to be "beaten before killed." The video captures the sound of the dog crying out while someone uses a metal pole to restrain it.Luckily, animal lovers in the Philippines took notice and rushed to save the animals. A local organization, the Animal Kingdom Foundation (AKF) in particular is responsible for protecting the dogs and sounding the alarm. AFK has posted online that it successfully found and recovered the dogs before they were killed, and that
the dogs are now "safe."The Philippines' Animal Welfare Act prohibits cruelty, torture, maltreatment, and neglect towards animals. This includes beatings and cruel methods of killing. The AFK said that an investigation is underway to understand and learn more about this incident.
But so far, this man is still able to have a platform and earn money based on his online videos. Streaming services, including TikTok and Facebook, must show that they take animal cruelty seriously and shut down his accounts now! Sign the petition!
