We are a growing group of concerned Newport Aquatic Center Members, Athletes, Parents and Friends of the Community. Please sign this petition to help the NAC.
The definitive goal is to make the Newport Aquatic Center a place where kids, members, coaches, staff and parents all feel safe and supported. We demand that we have a nonprofit Board of Directors who fulfills its legal and fiduciary responsibilities to the NAC and ensures transparency and accountability. To achieve this goal is simple; the old Board needs to step down and a new Board needs to be put in place.
The current Board is not abiding by the NAC Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation which requires a minimum of 8 Directors for this 501(c)(3) nonprofit. With the recent resignation of 2 Board members, and the illegal dismissal of 2 other Board members, this corrupt Board of 4 is unable to follow basic laws and hold their management accountable. This puts the NAC and its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status in real jeapordy. These 4 directors have been serving well past their 3 year term limit. They are obviously not following the Bylaws and are holding the NAC hostage.
