Justice for Kaile Mclean!!

    Justice for Kaile Mclean
Kaile Mclean's journey with the foster care system began when she was around the age 8/9. Under the care of her mother who was raising Kaile and (3) other siblings, (2) who were younger than Kaile and (1) that was older at that time, Kaile had her first experience dealing with the foster care system being taken away. In time her mother was able to get herself together but only Kaile and (2) of the other children came back into their mothers care.
Around the age of 13/14 Kaile took the role as a big sister helping out her mother in their home along with caring for her (4) younger siblings which meant now she had (7) brothers and sisters but only (5) of them lived in the home. Taking on many great responsibilities, she ventured out and found a place of peace at Sprout Spring Presbyterian Church where they took her under their wings. Kaile participated in many activities, along with her siblings. When the family often fell into hardship, the church stepped in to help Kaile and her mother who was trying to take care of her children, the best way she could.
As Kaile tried to be a great support during her mothers' struggles, sometimes being without electricity or water, she still carried a smile. One day the family somehow found themselves in a shelter once again facing great hardship, but still, Kaile stood strong. No matter what, she stood by her mothers' side even when times were rough, no other family to lean on even having to stay alone at night as her mother went to work, she watched her younger sister, brother, and infant twin sisters, along with trying to keep up with her school studies. Now searching for a new home, after spending 6 months in different places shelters and hotels, they found a new home and once again the Sprout Spring Presbyterian Church financially helped the family to move in. Settling in, the struggle was hard but the family was happy to be together. Kaile continued to find refuge in the church and in the community of Johnsonville.
Kaile's mother somehow found herself overwhelmed with trying to balance her life along with her (5) children, having no transportation, no one to help watch the kids, the burdens of life became overbearing. And once again, the children found themselves getting ready to be placed into foster care. Without hesitance, people in the community and the Sprout Spring Presbyterian Church stepped up to help the children. All (5) children were blessed to find refuge in the home of Kaile's long-term mentor who Kaile called Godmom. The Department of Social Services granted the family kinship even though they were not related to Kaile and her siblings at all. Taking on (5) children along with having (2) children of their own, there were now (2) 16-year-olds, (2) 12-year-olds, (1) 8-year-old and a set of 1-year-old twins in their home. They were not even foster parents or received any financial support but they opened up their home to Kaile and her family anyway. And once again, the people in the Johnsonville community helped to support the family, dropping off pampers, wipes, clothing, household products and food for the entire family. Getting organized and structured in their new environment, the holidays was soon approaching, the community, family, and friends along with the Sprout Spring Presbyterian Church, Williams Chapel Presbyterian Church, Hillman Grove Baptist, Barbecue Presbyterian Church, Crossroads Ministries, donated food baskets and brought gifts to the family. The big surprise was when a company by the name of Coty, located in Sandford, NC chose to provide Kaile and her (4) siblings gifts for Christmas.
With all this going on, trying to keep the children happy in a structured environment still there was the outcome of battling with court dates and placement. The search was still on to find the children's biological family, who might want to take the children into their home. As the first court date approached, the (4) younger children, whose father is incarcerated, sisters stepped up to take their nieces and nephew into their home. Waiting for the hearing, the family that they living with were glad that they had found the biological family to help. But still, Kaile on the other hand who had a different father did not have any other options like her siblings. Coming up on the court date, the family that the children lived with was told the biological family of the (4) younger children would take them, which was good, due to the fact that the Department of Social Services stated that their home did not have the adequate space for all the children, therefore if the courts did not approve of the (4) younger children to go live with their aunt they would be removed from the home and placed in foster care in different homes which meant they would be seperated. It was stated to Kaile by the Foster care Services, if Kaile wanted to remain in the home which she was in, she could do so. Everything seemed to be in order and on the court date, the judge stated the (4) younger children could go and live with their biological aunt. On that day, the Department of Social Service somehow had planned to also move Kaile, not with her siblings, but placing her among strangers in a foster home away from the family that she was with and whom she looked up to as her Godparents. Not with any warning, the Department of Social Service just planned to remove Kaile for no reason. The family whom she was staying with wanted to know why Kaile was being moved so abruptly by the Department of Social Service Foster care when it was stated that she could stay in their home under their care. It was stated that Kaile being 16 years old had a voice and could speak for herself and that the guardian ad litem would also represent her but she felt that the Department of Social Service Foster care system along with the guardian ad litem had let her down. For on that day when they had planned to move her no one wanted to hear anything she had to say. So now here we stand in question WHY??
Whats going on here is that the (4) younger siblings have found refuge in the arms of their biological family which is understood why they have been moved, but Kaile who has not found any refuge but the place where she lives is now being forced to move to live with strangers in Foster Care. Once again, we ask the question WHY?? Kaile has expressed that she wants to remain with her Godparents but the Foster Care worker who has the power to assist her is turning her back on her request. Kaile stated that she did not want to be removed. The police department was noticed to come with the social worker to help in assisting in removing her from the home. Now feeling all alone, she is seeking Justice for herself!!
