Man charged with killing cats he got for free on Craigslist

ST. PETERS, Missouri - A Missouri man has been charged with an animal offense after authorities said he killed cats found in online advertising.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch newspaper, Ken Lozader, 20, was charged on Friday. Prosecutors say he expects more charges.

Court documents say the dead cats have begun to appear or near Lozadre Street outside San Peters since January. Police contacted Luzader after someone told him to see him throw a dead cat near his home.

St. Charles County Police Sergeant. Jeff Ochs says Lozadre told police he would clean Craigslist's ads for free cats, then take her home, mess up and strangle her. Police say he cut some cats before throwing away their remains.

Louzader holds $ 50,000 bonds and cannot be reached on Saturday for comment. His lawyer is not listed in court documents online.
