Demand TripAdvisor stop promoting Elephant Jungle Sanctuary, Chiang Mai, Thailand!

The Elephant Jungle Sanctuary in Chiang Mai, Thailand operates under the guise of being a sanctuary. However their elephants are subject to being shackled for up to 17 hours a day with no access to food, water, or any place to use the bathroom. In addition, bull hooks are used to control them when they step out of line. Evidence is seen on their exterior dermis. Tell TripAdvisor to stop promoting animal abuse. Often this can not be seen unless you do the extended stay with them. Their elephants can be seen shackled and swaying, an obvious sign of stress. Instead find a reputable sanctuary that doesn't shackle or restrain their animals in any way and one that doesn't use physical force or objects that cause harm. TripAdvisor should only be promoting those kind of places.
