Justice For Elephant That Died From Exhaustion For Human Entertainment!

A young elephant, only 18 years old, recently died after being forced to carry tourists to the point of exhaustion. Add your name if you want to ban this savage abuse, NOW!

Imagine carrying hundreds of pounds on your back and being forced to walk around and around, around and around, while someone prods you with a sharp steel tool called a bullhook.

Your muscles are begging you to stop because they can't take any more, and your lungs are on fire, but you can't rest. If you do, you know you'll be punished. So you keep going.

This was the life of Kanakota, a young elephant that was forced to give humans rides along the Sigiriya tourist trail in Sri Lanka, according to one source.

After years of faithful service at his own expense, he finally collapsed and died from exhaustion.

"The real issue lies in Sri Lanka’s animal welfare laws, which have not been updated since 1907. As a growing popular tourist destination, the current laws are completely inadequate to deal with today’s challenges - currently, anyone found guilty of animal cruelty usually gets a fine of just 100 rupees," according to the same article.

    That's about $0.56. Wow, what a deterrent...

If the status quo doesn't change, more elephants like Kanakota will suffer and die for the sake of human entertainment.

Don't you want to stop this cruel, heartless practice of forcing elephants to give rides to tourists until they collapse and die from exhaustion?

Then add your name to demand that John Amaratunga, Sri Lankan Minister of Tourism; Maithripala Sirisena, Minister of Health; and Duminda Dissanayake, Minister of Agriculture and Livestock; do whatever it takes to end this cruel practice in their nation!
