i feel many felonies are drug motivated. to punish someone that has truly changed, gotten a college education and has stayed clean a sober for at least five years...their record should be expunged. you do the crime, you do the time...but no it's a lifetime sentence for someone that committed non violent crimes as an addict. they expunge records for drug court participants, why not give others a chance. please change the laws. As of now only one felony can be expunged and that takes 12 years and costs alot of money, and only a handful of misdameanors. for those who truly have changed, it's discouraging. Any crime of this nature should be expunged, clearly with follow up to prove you are on the right path.
