Fire the Police Officer Who Strangled a Black Man on Prom Night at a Waffle House

After taking his teen sister to prom, 22-year-old Anthony Wall went to a North Carolina Waffle House to get a bite to eat. Unfortunately, the night took a brutal turn, and ended with Anthony, unarmed and in a tux, being choked and brutalized by a police officer. The horrifying incident was caught in a video that has since gone viral.

Every week, we see another example of police brutality, especially against unarmed black men and women. It has to stop. Demand that Warsaw Police Chief Eric Southerland fire this officer for excessive force now.

Waffle House employees called the police on Anthony after he got into a verbal confrontation with wait staff. Anthony has said that he takes full responsibility for his actions inside the restaurant, but does not believe they justified the officer choking him.

Indeed, the video confirms the use of force was unnecessary, as Anthony had his arms in the air and was not resisting when the officer began choking him. Police Chief Eric Southerland even admitted that the officer's actions don't reflect how officers are trained to handle these kinds of situations.

Excessive force should have consequences. Sign now to urge the police chief to identify and fire the officer involved so he can no longer brutalize American civilians.
