A little dog was sitting on a golf cart outside its own home when a man grabbed it by the collar, lifted it into the air, swung it, and threw it to the ground. The poor thing landed hard and rolled across the pavement. Then the man walked over, grabbed the dog by the collar again, and dragged it roughly into the house. Police only found this because a surveillance camera happened to be recording.

But there is still work to be done to keep other animals safe.An arrest is not the same as justice. Without a strong prosecution, this case could end in a plea deal, a fine, or no real consequences at all, and the dog could end up back in the same home where it was being abused!
A conviction that includes a lifetime ban on owning animals would make sure this dog, and every animal after it, never has to face this man again. Court-ordered mental health counseling would address the root of this violence instead of just punishing it, lowering the odds that another animal is hurt the same way.
