Save Vishwa the Elephant

The Kandy Esala Perahera takes place annually The Festival of the Tooth which is held in July and August in Kandy, Sri Lanka to pay homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha.

Where you will see stressed elephants paraded in costumes with flashing lights but under the drapery they're in chains fitted around their necks  that connects  to their feet. (just like a prisoner convict or slave ! )

The elephants are surrounded by mahouts with bull hooks controlling every move by tugging on the chains that are shackled so tight that they can barely walk.

On August 4, 2020 a disturbing violent video was taken of a young elephant named Vishwa that has called out for immediate action & outcry to help this defenceless victim

See the heartbreaking clip

• Surrounded by 4 mahouts one on his back , and 3 others around him
• The mahout standing in front of him continually jabs Vishwa with a bull hook rapidly continuously on his head
• Vishwa is stressed and scared sucks on his trunk for comfort
• Continually swaying in stress and fear

This is not the first time this elephant has been beaten cruelly making headlines earlier this year shocking footage shows a mahout sitting on top of Vishwa in a river thrashing down blows to his head as he cries in pain.

Vishwa belongs to a Buddhist temple called Sasanawardena Pirivena in Mirigama, South of the Sri Lankan capital, Colombo he was gifted at age 5 and presently at age 14 all he's ever know is torture and abuse at the hands of his handlers.

We ask the government to take notice he must be confiscated and taken to a safe facility where he can be taken care of humanely and not have to face daily torture.
