Those words are meant to be a joke, but sadly comedy is rooted in truth. Many Sault youth permanently move away for various reasons. A lack of jobs opportunities, lack of recreational activities, and a missing sense of community are just a few of the reasons we've heard. This is a large and systemic problem that will take the whole city to mend. Together we can find ways to help Sault youth thrive at home.
We have created this petition to gain 500 signatures in order to let our city council know that Sault Ste. Marie wants a Youth Dedicated Space. We see having a place dedicated to the empowerment and safety of local youths as a step forward in bettering our community.

Youth Odena was created in 2016 by local Sault youths. Our shared experiences of living in the Sault has inspired us to find ways to improve our community for ourselves and others.
The word 'Odena' translates from Anishinaabemowin to "place of many hearts"; Youth Odena is where the hearts of Sault youths and adult allies come together to improve our community.
