Because it’s 2017 - We don't turn sports fields and green spaces into parking lots / Transformer des terrains sportifs et des espaces verts en stationnements - NON MERCI!

  • by: Luc R
  • recipient: Moncton City Councelors, Mayor Dawn Arnold and Moncton center provincial MLA Chis Collins and all representatives of the Province of New Brunswick.

♣Join us in opposing the current plan to transform the existing sports field of the former Moncton High School (MHS) into a parking lot so that it remains a sports field and green space.

♣We support the commercial and community development project for the former MHS building, but the re-zoning request would also mean the loss of this huge green space. That is unacceptable!

♣We ask the province of New Brunswick to respect, and the City of Moncton to comply with the guiding principles in its Municipal Plan to, as is states, embrace nature, create vibrant, complete neighborhoods, and build a city centered on people, accessible to all.

Update #16 years ago
Hello fellow supporters
Unfortunately our efforts were not successful in convincing the council of the City of Moncton NOT to rezoning the sports field. The developers involved (Heritage Developments) got the green light to pave this green space, BUT conditions were put in place by the City. Read the conditions on the City of Moncton's web site
