We don't have many details of the
recent killing of a cat in Maine.
But the details we do have are harrowing.The poor cat was
found shot -- allegedly five times -- and dead near its owner's home. When police responded, neighbors pointed them in that direction.
According to neighbors,
the cat's owner had been planning to kill this poor creature, telling them openly about his intention.

In what world is shooting a cat five times putting it out of its misery?Sometimes it is difficult or distressing to care for an animal that has been injured or is in pain -- but this is exactly what veterinarians are for. If this cat was actually injured by a car, all this man needed to do was find a vet or a shelter with medical staff, and this cat could have gotten the help it needed.
Instead, he opted to end this kitty's life cruelly and violently.These actions show
a clear misunderstanding of how to treat an animal, and authorities must act accordingly.
This man obviously is not equipped to care for animals, and therefore must be banned from owning pets ever again on top of his current sentencing.
