We residents have joined together recently to fight pawn shops and nightclubs that harm the North Avenue commercial corridor. Now, it's time to be FOR something. Let's unite to encourage locating a new Mariano's grocery store in a site shared with Sears at Harlem and North Avenues. This store would not only be a great place to shop. It would generate momentum that attracts more positive business development. Let's tell corporate parent Roundy’s how much we want a Mariano's, and let the world know that our community strongly supports positive businesses that meet the needs of local residents.
We’ve heard that Roundy’s is considering a Mariano's store location at the northeast corner of Harlem and North Avenues in Chicago’s Galewood neighborhood. We residents of Elmwood Park, Galewood, Oak Park and River Forest would just love to welcome Mariano’s to the intersection where our communities meet.
We’re confident that Harlem/North would be one of your best locations. Our area’s demographics are excellent. We’re well-educated, relatively affluent people who spend more money than most on food. We’re mainly married homeowners who take great pride in our safe, well-maintained neighborhoods. We’re very friendly and make great customers.
Commuters would also patronize a Mariano’s at Harlem/North in droves. Literally thousands of people drive by this intersection on their way to work and back. And there are convenient bus stops for those going north, south, east or west.
In short, Harlem/North is a great place for a Mariano’s. If you open a store there, you’ll be glad you did.
We look forward to welcoming you!
