My disabled mom is getting evicted from her home. Please help me change the law to prevent this!

My mother is being evicted. She is almost 60 years old and disabled. She lives in public, income-based housing. She is on Social Security and can't afford to get an apartment elsewhere.

The Johnstown Housing Authority wants to evict my mother because they say her apartment is cluttered. We have been fighting to overturn the eviction, which is happening in the dead of winter. There are no laws in Pennsylvania protecting elderly, disabled, or children from eviction in cold winter months. Landlords are allowed to shut off the electric in the wintertime even if a young child were in the house.

Please sign this petition to ask the Johnstown, PA Housing Authority not to evict my mother, and to ask the PA Legislature to introduce and support legislation that will protect the elderly, disabled, and children from wintertime evictions. Thank you.
