Demand Protection of Natural Plymouth!

The Plymouth County Wood Lot was deeded to the inhabitants of Plymouth in 1917 for the benefit of the public. It is the last stretch of forest off of Long Pond Road and the compaction of commercialization from the industries of Exit 5. Recent and ongoing sand and gravel removal by an abutter has resulted in the clear cutting of native forestland. This is a direct destruction of a globally rare Eco region, the Pine Barrens. Home to an estimated 45 threatened or endangered animals and plants. This law breaking excavation puts our clean water at stake. The Wood Lot serves as a recharge area for the Plymouth Carver Sole Source Aquifer, Plymouth's only source of drinking water. PLEASE follow along with us as we stand up for the Plymouth County Wood Lot. More information can be found here: http://savethecountywoodlot.com/
