Reinstate Luis Cortez as CPYL Volunteer Coach

On behalf of the Cedar Park Bolts Centex All-Stars baseball team, we would like to ask that the CPYL Board allow Luis Cortez to become a coach for CPYL. This petition includes signatures of parents on our team who are aware of his previous suspensions and fully support his reinstatement to be a CPYL coach.

We understand why he was initially dismissed from coaching at CPYL,  understand that he and our head coach Bryan Bailiff have asked the board multiple times to reinstate Luis. Luis has proven through the last Spring and All-Star season in practices and at games that he is more than capable to help lead a team and abide by the CPYL rules.

During a game this Spring, it was noted from a team parent, (who also happens to be on the board), that Luis said a comment to an umpire garnering a potential ejection of Coach Bailiff. However, she was incorrect in her accusation and multiple parents who were there know this. The person who made that comment was a player's grandfather and he acknowledges his mistake, and was talked to by Coach Bailiff about CPYL no tolerance rules. Coach Bailiff also spoke to the parent/board member who originally accused Luis of this issue. This board member clearly made a mistake but never came back to the board to clear up the mistake and the parents from the Spring team do not appreciate her untruthfulness. Luis has more than proven his ability to follow CPYL's no tolerance rules through the Spring 2018 and Summer All-Stars 2018 seasons.

Luis Cortez has been a positive influence on our kids at all practices as well as pumping them up from the stands at games. He connects with the players and provides expert training. He also puts in maximum time and effort into making our players better both on and off the field. He helps instruct our players on how to be mature young men and to respect parents, coaches, and other players. He deserves to be coaching again and we are signing this petition to demand that the CPYL board allow Luis to coach at CPYL.
