The unelected Melrose Parking Commission is holding a "special meeting" on October 22nd to consider removing the overnight parking ban that has been in place for decades and has served the city well. If you enjoy quiet streets and neighborhoods at night, you need to voice your opposition. If you do not want Melrose to look and feel like surrounding communities who have no parking ban you need to join our fight. If you don't want cars up and down both sides of our narrow streets then you need to sign this petition and fast. If you don't want another thousand no parking signs all over the city, further destroying its beauty and charm, then sign this petition now. If you don't want an increase in criminal activity, particularly at night, then sign this petition now. If you do not want to pay higher insurance premiums, sign today. It may be a slight inconvenience to a few, but it helps make Melrose what it is. If you want to keep Melrose a reasonably quiet, overwhelmingly residential community then you need to sign this petition.

Thanks everyone. We are up to 150 signatures already. Please share via text message, Facebook Twitter Instagram if you can. This is an urgent matter. The fact that a "SPECIAL MEETING" is being held tells us they are trying to sneak it through. Keep in mind the Parking Committee is not an elected body of our city government. They are supposed to be dealing with stop signs and crosswalks. This issue is beyond what they should be able to change without our consent. Text the link to a friend today!
