Clean, freshwater is a limited resource. With all the severe droughts happening in the world, the limited supply of freshwater is becoming one of our most precious resources. Every person on earth needs water to survive. Without it, many of us would get sick and even result in death.
Billions of people around the world are continuing to suffer from poor access to water, sanitation and hygiene, according to a new report by UNICEF and the World Health Organization. Some 2.2 billion people around the world do not have safely managed drinking water services, 4.2 billion people do not have safely managed sanitation services, and 3 billion lack basic handwashing facilities.
Many believe that our water supply is infinite. However, our supply is quite the opposite. It is important that we must not pollute our water as many do not realize just how important and scarce water is. Only 2% of the Earth's fresh supply of water is locked in icecaps and glaciers, while 97,5% of the earth's water is saltwater.
So, WHAT WE CAN DO TO SAVE THE WATER?
(1) Minimise the amount when we use water. The more water we used, the more stress we place on our rivers, tributaries, and dams.
(2) Clean up the rivers
(3) Reduce the use of chemicals when cleaning
(4) Do not pour fat and grease down the drain
(5) Report water polluters
(6) Support Environmental Charities
Last but not least, just take a few seconds to think. Take the action now or cry later? Who else needs to start if not us? Stay safe and stay sanitize! Thank you.
